Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the website of the Pipes and Drums of the Delaware Valley, a Scottish competition and parade pipe band based in Wilmington DE.
The Pipes and Drums of the Delaware Valley are celebrating their 50th year in 2012 and are, under the musical leadership of Piping Instructor Tom Thomson and Drumming Instructor Eric Gettler, offering experienced and aspiring musicians the chance to learn and perform Highland piping and drumming. The band competes in Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA) events as well as performs in parades and concerts throughout the Delaware Valley. PDDV is unique for their service to the Delaware National Guard, playing at departure and return ceremonies for soldiers coming and going to fields of combat. We are also known for being a multiple award-winning band with a supportive, fun, and family-like culture. With unique instructional depth, we are able to fully develop a member’s capabilities.
We encourage experienced musicians as well as potential new students to visit us on Thursday nights at Grace Episcopal Church in Wilmington, DE across from the Concord Mall. Lessons are from 6 – 7 PM and band rehearsals are from 7 – 9:30 PM.
We are also available for your next parade or concert performance, and several members of our band are available for private performances such as weddings, birthdays, and funerals.
We are passionate about our music and heritage and are always seeking new members! Contact us at band@pddv.org and visit us on Facebook.
